Crafted in Croatia: The World's First Yacht Powered by Dual Electric Motors
At Salona Yachts, we are excited to announce the launch of the SALONA 46 in Split, Croatia—marking a significant milestone in the luxury yacht market. This remarkable vessel is the world’s first yacht equipped with two electric motors, setting a new standard for both performance and sustainability.
What makes the SALONA 46 truly unique is its innovative dual electric motor system, powered by patented Servoprop engines from OceanVolt. This technology allows for hydro-regeneration of battery power while sailing. As our director, Marin Donadini, puts it, “Our new electric propulsion system lets us enhance battery capacity significantly during high-speed sailing.” The SALONA 46 boasts an impressive 10 hours of autonomy at 6.5 knots and can reach a maximum speed of 8.5 knots for up to 3 hours. Plus, it can recharge its batteries from empty to full in about 20 hours at cruising speeds. In terms of design, the SALONA 46 combines advanced technology with comfort and style. Its hull and deck are made using vacuum-infused vinyl ester resin, ensuring a lightweight yet sturdy structure that delivers exceptional sailing performance.
